Of Thee I Sing

It’s nice at times to have someone sing your praises.  When someone is singing your praises, it makes you feel important… special…kind of warm and fuzzy on the inside.  Yes.  It is nice to have people sing your praises.

Except, it is inappropriate when View full article »

Okay, the month of November is coming up and I need a new challenge word to squeeze in to every post.  Can you suggest a word or phrase for me to put into every post?  This will be for the month of November.  Perhaps I should turn it into a contest whereas if I cannot put the word into every post, then the person who suggested the word wins a prize or I have to do something stupid… and post it!

Give me some suggestions!

Previously used phrases:

  • Tony Stewart
  • spontaneous combustion

**Hint:  You may want to join in the fun, because honestly, I can’t do every single post and I make mistakes, so I may lose the challenge.

I realize that it has been awhile since I made a post.  I can hardly believe that I’m so out of practice.  This summer I seemed to have so much to say, but lately, I have much to say, but no time to say it.

My life is busy.  Simple as that, I am busy and I have no time for anything anymore.  Life becomes a myriad of moments that blend into a motley collage of life experiences and lessons.

Of course, lately, it has become a time of discovery and profound observations.

Walking down Pit Road at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Walking down Pit Road at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

Well, I must say that I think I found my new racing home and it is Charlotte!  Even though Jimmie Johnson won, I still loved the whole experience with a few exceptions:  Pit Road passes/Driver Introductions (I will save my money because it really wasn’t worth it and I’ll explain later).

When my CH arrived home from work Saturday morning, we set out to leave.  I had to drive us because obviously, my CH had worked all night and was tired.  It is okay, because I really love to drive.  In fact, I’m more comfortable driving than having CH drive us, because between you and me, his driving scares me.

When we arrived at the track, View full article »

Charlotte Bound

Just a quick post before we leave for Charlotte, NC to attend the NASCAR race this evening.  I know, it is very early, but we wanted to be able to not feel rushed and the fact that Clemson is playing today means extra traffic in my neck of the woods.

Hopefully, I’ll come back with lots of wonderful pictures of our Charlotte Road Trip!  Unfortunately it is raining here.  I hope that this is not going to be the case all day as I don’t want to have to stay wet all day!  Oh well…..

As long as no one spontaneously combusts, we will be okay. ;)

I made the comment quite some time ago that in order for me to go to the race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC in October that a miracle would have to happen or all the stars would have to line up just right.  Well, I’m happy to report that all the stars did line up just right and a miracle did happen!  I’m going to the Sprint Cup race tomorrow!!!!!

I am so excited, it just isn’t funny!

Of course, it would be better if Jimmie Johnson had not won the pole, but Tony Stewart is  like in the top 5, so I’m thrilled!

But my dear CH had to make my first trip to Charlotte even more special.  I have Pit Passes!  I’m beyond happy!  I’m going to charge my camera and get it ready.  I can’t wait, because I love to take pictures!  And I hope to complete some of my bucket list!!!

The Lies They Tell

I’m not sure, but I know that someone is lying.  It is hard to be sure who it is exactly, but I know the usual suspects, and the evidence, well it was plain to see.  So, who is lying?

Let us line up the suspects and investigate.  But first, I must present the crime.

I sat down this morning and looked into the mirror as I always do as I’m getting ready.  My son said something rather funny and I couldn’t help but crack a smile.  That’s when I noticed it.  View full article »

I Declare

Must I declare a disclaimer over everything that I post in my life?

According to some, I should.

This was brought to my attention after I shared a conversation with a fellow classmate who follows me on Facebook.  His advice to me:  You should really be careful about what you post on your Facebook status.

Excuse me?  Why should he care?  More importantly, why would he take me that seriously? View full article »

Could it Get Worse?

Tuesday’s and Friday’s are by far my busiest days at school.  The reason for this is that my day begins in the morning and ends some time in the afternoon.  It is always non-stop.

Oh, sometimes I find time to check my email in class, but that is only rarely.  So imagine my surprise when I log on right before class and find an email from my professor telling me that he needs to see me immediately and before class!

My first thought was, “He’s not happy with my mid-term grade.”  My second thought was, “He’s going to tell me that because of my age, maybe I’m not cut out for this class and that I can’t keep up with these 19 year olds.”  So I raced downstairs to  his office.

Regrets

Regrets.  We all have them.  Some more than others, but hey, it’s probably because we don’t learn our lessons the first time around.

As for me, I have many and I think that I fall into that same category of never learning when to shut my mouth.  My mouth gets me into more trouble than anything.  I just never know when to shut up.  So imagine my surprise when I read my Horrorscope (yes, I misspell that on purpose people, GEEZ!) and it said basically that my mouth was a deadly weapon today and would get me in trouble.

*sigh*  Like I needed another excuse to get me in trouble.

Of course, I needed that warning like 5 days ago, because my mouth has been getting me into trouble and saying things that it shouldn’t ever since Thursday.  I have gotten into yelling fights with my CH because he yelled at me.  I have screamed at my TV.  I have told a complete stranger all the worse possible things that have happened to me and she probably thinks that I’m a raving lunatic.  But you live and you learn.
