I love being creative!

That’s why I decided to take my guitar/music talent and put them to good use. I wrote a song and made a video.  Enjoy!

I know that I said I wasn’t going to post everything in one post, but to be honest, I have not found the time to sit down and write. Trying to squeeze this in while trying to finish so many things and prepare for this weekend is pushing my limits. So the only thing that I know to do- before I forget what it is that I wanted to say- is to post everything  in one post. View full article »

**Disclaimer: Because so many people tend to take some of my posts so seriously, I’m gonna warn you that this one is going to be humorous and is not intended to be serious.

During the Nationwide race on Friday, I noticed someone had tweeted about Kasey Kahne’s facial hair. First, I thought this was odd because he’s one of the Gillette Young Gun guys promoting shaving, but then I thought, “What hair? I didn’t see any.”

At the end of the race they interviewed him and sure enough he had some dirt over his upper lip. Kind of reminds me of my seventeen year old when he would go 3 months without shaving and say, “See my mustache.”  I’d tell him to go and wash his face, it was dirty.

Well, then, last night on Speed’s Race Hub I saw Denny Hamlin looking the same way. He looked as though he had some dirt wiped over his lip.

Now, lately this seems to be a trend, and I’m wondering, “Who are they trying to out do?”

Maybe they are trying to reach Dale Jr’s shaggy growth. He came into this season with a “man-of-the-mountain” look that just screamed “I’m a Hermit!”

Maybe they are trying to re-invent Jimmie Johnson’s look in the hopes of changing up their luck or snagging his horseshoe.

And the reason I suggest the above “maybe’s” is because they are in no way man enough to be like Tony Stewart. After all, he climbs into the car clean shaven at the beginning of the race and comes out at the end with a full growth of hair to put Dale Jr’s months of efforts to shame!  Not everyone can be that rugged, now can they?

Dirt Track Racing
My Dad back in the day. He was my hero! I was his greatest fan!

Growing up around racing, I learned that every racecar driver has their share of fans and groupies.  The word ”groupies” reminds me of David Moyer who was the young stud of dirt racing.  He was handsome, his father was wealthy, and he was the fastest thing on dirt.  Every week he would park next to the ladies restroom and there were always girls all over his car hauler.  It never failed.  And even at my young age, I wanted to be one of them, even if he was 7 years older than me.

These days, I make it to the track less often.  However, I still love NASCAR and now that I’m grown, I try to make it to a race.  Of course, when I mention racing, everyone always asks, “Who is your favorite driver?”

Truth be told, it is easier for me to tell you who I don’t pull for rather than tell you who I do.  The reason behind this is that I don’t have one clear favorite.  I know last season I wrote about Tony Stewart quite a bit, but that’s only because I was teased so badly about it.  I like to make things interesting.  Even with everything that I wrote about him, nothing could compare to his Super Fan. As much as I love to blog, I have to admit that school work is cutting into my blogging time.  So, this is a long post, with a lot of information, and not nearly enough time spent on all I want to talk about.  But enjoy it anyhow. :)

This weekend was the first points race in many of NASCAR’s series.  The Nationwide series, Camping World Truck Series, and the Sprint Cup series all had races.  Favorites arrived, changes have been made, and new drivers have come on the scene.  I’m not going to take the time to go through all of these changes, but I will point out the noteworthy ones and those that are of importance to me, namely, Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, and a few others.

First, I would like to address the View full article »

Resolving a New Year

Yep!  It is that time again!  Are you ready?  Have you made your resolutions for 2010?

Let me see..

Okay, so what exactly should I resolve to do this year?  Of course, I could go and look over last year’s resolutions to determine whether or not I actually accomplished anything.  So here’s last year’s resolutions: View full article »

Check out my friend’s Nascar themed Christmas story at:  http://jgrchristmas.blogspot.com/2009/12/prologue.html

You have to start at the prologue and then read each chapter, but it is entirely funny and stars Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and Joey Logano.

I’ve been rather happy that this week has slowly been dragging by.  The reason:  Sunday is the last NASCAR race of this season.

Yep.  In just a few days, the 2009 season will be behind us and we will have to wait on the 2010 season to arrive with Daytona in February.

Wow!  That seems like such a long time to wait.  I mean, for myself, it means no more standing in front of the TV screaming at a driver who obviously can’t hear me or even cares.  It means not having to fuss about the obvious “Jimmie Johnson Show.”  It means *gasp* not getting to see Tony Stewart’s smiling scruffy face on TV (though lately, I haven’t seen him smile much) because I’m such a sucker for those gorgeous brown eyes of his.  It means View full article »

What a Week So Far!

Okay, here goes my weekly recap so far and only because I’m really needing a break from paper writing!  So, logically (of course!), I’m taking a break from writing to write.  Don’t ask, because it makes perfect sense to me and besides, I truly need to empty the mush from my brain before it… well, we won’t go quite that far. ;)

This has definitely been a wild week!  And to think, it is only Wednesday!  So that means that I still have three more days before it is over and I’m wondering exactly what is going to happen by then.

Let’s give a little bit of background first shall we?  How about we start with last Friday, as this is a very important day? View full article »

The very idealism of Superman was one who fought on the side of good against evil.  Who doesn’t remember the comic book hero (or the movie versions starring Christopher Reeves) without thinking about truth, honesty, and the American way?  After all, didn’t Superman epitomize the patriotic push to serve our country heroically?  Was there ever one time that Superman outright did something dishonest?  Untrue?  Unthinkable?

Well, this blog is courtesy of my Dad’s instilling in me this idea so you can thank him later if you see him. ;)   I am going to make one comment on the entire subject, be done with it, and I promise I will not make another mention about it.  At least until after racing season…. and maybe next year, too.  I’m not sure.  It all depends on who I decide to pull for next year and believe me, you’ll know, when I know!  But guess who it won’t be?

All that aside…

I am sure that by now many of you are as upset by View full article »
